![]() Muffler for weapons
专利摘要:
Summary: The muffler is threaded on a barrel to a weapon and consists of a nut, regulator and outer pipes where hot driving gas expands in expansion chambers with surfaces that absorb heat, which lowers gas pressure in connection with the entry into the ambient atmosphere, which reduces noise. The regulator is the component in the expansion chamber where the projectile and the amount of gas pass through chambers of varying volume and the remaining amount of gas passes heat-absorbing surfaces past the regulator towards and through the atmosphere surrounding the valve. 专利说明:
Detailed description of the invention Definitions The muffler consists of scalable components that together form the muffler with a function that reduces sound pressure by expanding gas in chambers with heat-absorbing surfaces and where the projectile passes without mechanical contact. Nut is threaded on the barrel of the weapon and is a fastening element for Pipe. Pipes fix the Regulator which together form the Valve in the Expansion Chamber. The regulator consists of at least one or two composite components with passage for the projectile and where propellant gases are obstructed in chambers along the direction of travel of the projectile. Valve restricts passage of gas from Expansion Chamber to ambient atmosphere. Expansion chamber is the volume where hot gas expands and consists of Pipes with inner diameter and length minus the volume occupied by Nut and Regulator. List of figures Figure l Crossing of the muffler (l) with nut (lb) threaded on pipe (la) and on pipe (lc) with regulator (lf) in expansion chamber (ld) against beam (le) and with valve (lg) and outlet for gases (li, lh) to ambient atmosphere. Figure 2 Intersection of regulator with passage for projectile (2a) and exit (2e). Fixing of regulator (2b) to (le) and chamber with walls (2c), opening for gases through valve (2d) and outlet for gases and projectile (2e). Figure 3 Perspective of the muffler with nut (3a) and pipe (3b) and inlet (3c) to regulator (2) in expansion chamber (3d) and valve (3e) at the end of the muffler. Description The muffler consists of regulator (lf), pipe (lc) and nut (lb). The regulator (lf) is located in the center of the pipe and against the valve with fl äns (lg) with nut (lb) threaded in pipe (lc). In the muffler, the gas pressure is reduced when hot gas expands in expansion chambers (ld, 3d) against surfaces (1,2 and 3) that absorb heat. The valve (lg, 2d, 3e) equalizes high pressures by releasing a limited amount of gas during the time the projectile passes through the regulator (2). Expansion chamber, regulator and valve can be scaled up or down depending on requirements for damping and function. Page 2 (3) After firing, burning gunpowder gases propel the projectile out of the barrel and through a part of the expansion chamber and further into the opening (3c) on the regulator. The regulator is equipped with a small front area that limits the mechanical shock from hot rushing gas when the projectile leaves the barrel. The shape of the regulator facilitates the expansion of hot gas between heat-absorbing surfaces towards and through the valve (Ig, 2d, 3e) to the surrounding atmosphere. The regulator (lf) is the component in the expansion chamber (ld, 3d) that limits the passage of gas in connection with the passing projectile and the time thereafter. [description, patents with silencers without surrounding chambers have been omitted as references because only those with some form of double chambers can be considered for comparison in claims. Byron S. Petersen describes in Patent US 7,789,008 B2 a muffler with a classic baffle system but surrounded by an outer tube where gases gain access to extra volume through openings near the projectile outlet. The inventor intends to "spread energy in time and space". Constructions with closed chambers function in part when the gas already present there is compressed to back pressure so that driving gas with forward kinetic energy does not change direction in through side valves for no reason, especially not under back pressure. Robert B. Davis describes in patent US 7,832,323 B1 a muffler with an opening to an external expansion chamber where the projectile travels in a tube into a defined baffle chamber where gases cannot pass. The intention of a large primary chamber is largely in line with Byron S. Petersen's patents, but both of these patents have been designed with closed expansion chambers, which means that gases are forced to take the same path as the projectile and that back pressure in closed cavities reduces efficient heat absorption. The muffler (invention) differs from these two patents in that pressurizing gases can expand without mechanical side barriers in front of the barrel mouth and that hot gas is allowed to pass past the projectile passage in regulator and over heat-absorbing surfaces on said regulator and on walls in pipes and further through valve to ambient atmosphere and that the regulator and expansion chamber vary in volume along the projectile's direction of travel. Claims (4) [1] 1. l. Muffler for weapons consists of one or more closed tubes with projectile outlet and some form of internal expansion chamber provided with bafs which in one or more steps reduce the pressure and velocity of the gases that drive the projectile towards targets in the surrounding atmosphere. Muffler components are screwed, glued or welded together with or without gaskets and in design in front or in combination in front of and behind the mouth of the barrel. Mufflers are used on weapons with manual, semi-automatic or fully automatic reloading. The silencer, characterized by pipes with regulators in expansion chambers where a subset of propelling gas passes through a valve to the surrounding atmosphere and where projectiles with other quantities of propelling gas pass chambers in regulators. [2] The muffler characterized by an expansion chamber whose volume varies in the direction of travel of the projectile in tubes with regulator according to claim 1. [3] The muffler characterized by a regulator whose volume varies in the direction of travel of the projectile in tubes with expansion chambers according to claim 1. [4] The muffler, characterized by a nut threaded on the barrel of the weapon and a tube with an expansion chamber and regulator, constitutes the muffler according to the above requirements.
